FIRST INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON MULTIMEDIA & IMAGE PROCESSING

Anchorage, Alaska

May 10-14, 1998

The first International Forum on Multimedia and Image Processing will concern
state-of-the-art research and development. Multimedia and image processing have
become a fundamental component of the new information age. This forum will
bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Submission of papers:
Several categories of papers will be considered for presentation and
publication including:
1. Original and unpublished research articles; and
2. Reports of applications in the business, government,
industry, arts, sciences, and engineering

Authors wishing to submit papers should send five copies written in
English to the Conference Chair.

Submitted manuscripts should not exceed 6 pages in length including
an abstract of approximately 300 words, references, and figures. Text
font must be Times Roman, a minimum of 10 point, with double line
spacing. A separate cover sheet should be attached to each copy of the
manuscript, containing the title of the paper, the author(s) and
affiliation(s), and the address (including e-mail address and fax
number, if available) to which correspondence should be sent.

All papers submitted will be reviewed by the Program Committee. They
will be judged with respect to their quality, originality, and
relevance.

Papers are requested for, but not limited to the following categories:

Expert media (Multimedia and Expert systems)
Multimedia and digital libraries
Multimedia and health care applications
Multimedia in distance education
Multimedia programming
Multimedia models and frameworks
Image and video compression
Manipulation of raster images, e.g. warping and morphing
Video based gesture recognition
Man machine interaction
Scanning, in particular of 3D objects

Important dates:
Submission of papers October 15, 1997
Notification of acceptance December 15, 1997
Final submissions January 15, 1998
Congress May 10-14, 1998
