TENURED PROFESSORSHIP AT INSTITUT EURECOM

The Institut Eurecom has a new opening for a tenured professor position at
the Associate or preferably, Full Professor level.

The teaching and research activities of the Institute range from Corporate
Communications to Multimedia and Mobile Communications. In particular, in
the multimedia area, information indexing and browsing techniques, video
processing and virtual reality, high speed networks, video server
architectures, collaborative applications are considered research topics.
The applicant should develop his teaching and research in relationship with
these activities and possibly launch a new research group more centered on
communications aspects.

The ideal candidate thus has a solid background in distributed information
processing and networks. Particular interest in one of the following areas
would be a valuable asset:

- Distributed multimedia databases, networked information retrieval systems,
- Storage and stream synchronization, processing of compressed video data,
- Distributed real time OS, dedicated languages, APIs and agents.
- New media applications and tools.

The applicants should have a Ph.D. in computer science or electrical
engineering and several years of experience in academic or industrial
research. The successful candidate will demonstrate his vision and
leadership. He is expected to participate in teaching, supervision of
students and to undertake research collaborations with industry as well as
with the academic and industrial affiliated partners of Institut Eurecom.
The position is created september 97 and applications will be accepted
