Outline:
--------

Workflow management systems are developed to support/automate the
execution of business processes. A workflow systems enacts a business
process by assigning tasks to workflow agents according to the workflow
specification. In this workshop we will focus on the management of
workflows. Management is an activity which has to do with planning,
controlling, organizing, making decisions, and solving problems.
Current workflow systems support the management of processes in
different degrees. Many state-of-the-art workflow systems are mainly
concerned with the routing and assignment of tasks and provide little
support for the above mentioned managerial aspects.

This workshop will provide a forum for the exchange of novell ideas on the following key questions:

* How can workflow systems support the management of processes?
* How can workflows be managed?

Major topics of interest which address the above questions may include
but are not limited to:

Workflow Control
Workflow Transactions
Exception Handling in Workflow Systems
Workflow Administration
Time Management in Workflow Systems
Management of Resources in Workflow Systems
Workflow Monitoring
Dynamic Workflows
Workflow Planning and Control Systems
Workflow reporting
Data Mining in Workflow Systems
Process Improvement Cycles
Organizational Environment for Workflow Application
Experiences in the Application of Workflow Systems
Work Scheduling
Workflow and Quality Management
Cooperation between Workflow Management Systems and Groupware Systems
Generation of Processes from Case Descriptions
Workflow and Project Management
Workflow Management and Personal Productivity Tools
