Job Openings

The new Scientific and Technical Information Management group at
the IBM Almaden
Research Center is looking for a few talented individuals to work
on projects including
data and knowledge mining in the technical domain, technical
application of
heterogeneous middleware for information integration, and data
modelling of technical
business metadata. The ideal candidate would have a Masters or PhD
in Computer
Science or in a Physical Science with a large Computer Science
component,
a solid background in database technology, and a strong desire to
implement her/his
ideas in real systems. Desirable expertise would include knowledge
of some or all of
the following: C++, Java, SQL, NT, Unix, and experience working
with one or more
commercially-available database systems. Salaries are competitive,
based on
experience, and positions carry full IBM benefits. IBM?s Almaden
Research Center
is located in San Jose, California (http://www.almaden.ibm.com) and
has a strong
focus on both Science and Technology and Computer Science.
