Applicants are invited for a one year position of a PostDoctoral Fellow
at INRIA-Lorraine (http://www.loria.fr/INRIA/inria-lorraine.html) in
Nancy (France) and XRCE (Xerox Research Center Europe,
http://www.xrce.xerox.com) in Grenoble (France). The post-doc is
proposed by the ECOO team of INRIA
(http://www.inria.fr/Equipes/ECOO-fra.html) and the CT team
(Coordination Technologies, http://www.xrce.xerox.com/research).

The general purpose of the project between INRIA-ECOO and XRCE-CT is
to explore applications of extended transaction models to distributed
workflow management systems.

In this large context, the work of the post-doc people will be to
contribute to the definition and development of a peer-to-peer
architecture to support workflow systems over the internet. The main
requirements for this system is that it must provide the basic
services (communications, version management, replication consistency
management ...) to support various advanced transaction models and a
flexible tool for task organization based on the existing XEROX CLF
(Coordination Language Facility). Development will be mainly done in
Java.

The work will progress under the responsability of Jean-Marc Andreoli
(XRCE) and Claude Godart (INRIA).

The appointment can start ASAP. The salary is
determined by the rules of the INRIA and is around 11 000 FF per month,
free of charges.

Applicants can contact, preferably via e-mail, Claude Godart
(godart@loria.fr) or Jean-Marc Andreoli
(Jean-Marc.Andreoli@xrce.xerox.com) for more informations.
