Research positions
in multi-media databases and retrieval at
Digital's Cambridge Research Lab

Digital Equipment Corporation's Cambridge Research Lab has started an
exciting new project in multi-media indexing and retrieval. We are
looking
for a researcher with expertise in databases, query processing, and
information retrieval to join our team of speech, vision, and system's

in
the areas that are required for building a large-scale system for
delivering indexed content.

We are looking for an individual who is motivated, creative, and
energetic
and can lead in the database and retrieval area to complement our
current
strengths. Researchers who join the laboratory will have an opportunity
to
develop their research programs and to apply their research within this
large-scale demonstration project.

Researchers with experience and proven research track record or
engineering
track record in any of the following fields are encouraged to apply:
- information retrieval
- multi-media databases
- query processing and optimization
- large-scale systems
- familiarity with the issues in vision and/or speech

A candidate for these positions should have a Ph.D. in computer science
or
related field. Senior researchers are also encouraged to apply.

Interested candidates should send their resume, a list of at least three
