Computer Science Faculty Position

Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position at the
level of assistant professor in computer science commencing no later
than September 1, 1998. Outstanding applicants are sought in all
areas of computer science, but preference will be given to candidates
whose work includes experimental computer science. Candidates are
expected to have outstanding research credentials and a strong
commitment to teaching. They must also have completed all the
requirements for the doctoral degree by no later than September 1,
1998. The initial appointment will be for three years and is
renewable.

Successful applicants will find at Brown a stimulating environment
conducive to professional growth. Brown has a strong department with
a variety of interesting research projects in analysis of algorithms,
artificial intelligence, combinatorial optimization, computational
complexity, computational geometry, computer graphics, concurrent data
structures and architectures, database systems, graph drawing, logic
programming, operating systems, parallel computation, parallel and
distributed debugging, programming environments, programming
languages, and software engineering.
