POSITION - BEN-GURION UNIVERSITY

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Ben-Gurion
university of the Negev in Israel invites applications for tenure
track positions at all levels.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in computer science or a related field
and demonstrate excellence in research and teaching. Candidates in all
areas of computer science will be considered.

The department offers B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in computer
science and mathematics. The computer science division of the
department is young and dynamic, comprising of 16 full-time faculty
members with an enrollment of over 500 students at the undergraduate
level. The department is currently undergoing a significant expansion
with large increase in the number of faculty members and resources.

Faculty members enjoy a research oriented atmosphere with moderate
teaching loads and are encouraged to take advantage of the
possibilities that the burgeoning high-tech industry in Israel, and in
the Negev in particular, (e.g., new Intel and Motorola centers),
offers.

The laboratory of the CS division is modern and well equipped,
including over 70 workstations and servers running Unix, and several
powerful graphics workstations for image processing and computer
graphics. Current faculty intersts include algorithms, AI,
computational geometry, computational linguistics, databases,
distributed computing, programming languages, and theory of
computation.
