Databases are now being employed frequently in conjunction with
distributed and real-time control applications. A separate session in
the AIRTC'98 symposium will be organized, describing research at the
intersection of databases and distributed/real-time control. Original
papers with novel results are solicited that describe
* the current database technology being used in control applications,
* research problems that are encountered in terms of data management,
data models, query languages and processing, transaction management, etc.,
* novel experimental systems and applications.
