CSIRO Mathematical and Information Sciences (CMIS) is one of over 20 Divisions
of CSIRO, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation.
CSIRO is the largest R&D organisation in Australia.

CMIS provides a broad spectrum of problem solving skills for many areas of
industry and government applying our research expertise in information
technology, mathematics and statistics to 'real world' problems. We aim to

productivity and competitiveness.

To facilitate this broad skill base we are increasing our research strengths in
Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide and Perth in the key areas of:

spatial information systems digital media information systems
text-based information management earth observation
image analysis human computer interaction
