The Computer Science Department at the University of Southern California
invites applications for a tenure track position in the general area of
multimedia and database management systems. While the position is at
the Assistant Professor level, qualified candidates at the Associate
(and more senior) level will also be considered. The USC Computer Science
Department, in conjunction with the Information Sciences Institute (ISI)
and the recently established Integrated Media Systems Center (a center of
excellence established by the National Science Foundation in 1996), offers
an exciting multi-disciplinary research environment with over fifty faculty
members. Related research activities are diverse in nature, including
video-on-demand servers and frameworks for representation and
integration of data to networks, operating systems, virtual-reality,
graphics, machine vision and artificial intelligence.
