Hi, I'm a graduate student in Computer Science at the University of
California at Berkeley. I'm a member of the database research group,
and we are conducting a study of how users interpret visualizations of
data. We would like to ask you to participate in this study.

If you participate, you will be asked to view an interactive
visualization created by the DataSplash software developed by my
research group. The visualization will be displayed in a Java applet.
You'll be asked to perform a short task. You'll also be asked a couple
of short questions. Downloading the applet, completing the task, and
answering the questions should take approximately 10-15 minutes.

One randomly selected respondent will receive a Berkeley T-shirt as a
token of our appreciation for participating. Those who complete the
task successfully will be entered in a drawing for an additional
T-shirt. Supplying contact information is strictly optional, but only
respondents who supply their email address will be eligible for the
drawing.

If you would like to participate, please visit:

Thank you!
