(DBWORLD) Database Tuning --- improved lecture notes

Dear Colleagues,

A new version of my tuning lecture notes is available,
including some industrial case studies (e.g., my recent Sigmod tutorial).
Please feel free to use these notes for study or teaching.
If you reproduce them, please leave the copyright intact.

You can download the lecture notes by performing the following steps:
1. ftp into cs.nyu.edu (ip address is 128.122.140.24)
2. type anonymous in response to login
3. type your email id as the password
4. cd pub/local/shasha
5. get tuning
6. uudecode tuning
7. print out or ghostview root.post as a regular postscript file.

If you have any problems, please let me know.
