The Institute of Computer Science invites applications for a
Research & Development position (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter)
in a project on Digital Libraries.
In this project we develop a prototypical digital science library
which
- allows to access electronic journals in a unified way
- supports the publication process
- unifies the access to internet related scientific information

Successful applicants will participate in the definition and development
of the system and help to organize the retrieval and dissemination
process of electronic information in the university. The project
cooperates with the university library and with publishers.

Applicants must be familiar with modern computer science concepts
and systems (unix, databases, internet based information systems)
and electronic media. Basis working knowledge of German is desirable.

Candidates must have a Master's degree, or a Ph.D. in computer science or
a related field. The position is immediately available for a 3-years-term.
The annual salary is US$24,000 - US$30,000 (after taxes and social security)
depending on age an marital status.

FU Berlin is the largest of the three universities in Berlin with 40,000
students and an excellent research profile.
