The Department of Business Analysis in Texas A&M University
has an opening for a tenure track position at the Assistant
Professor level in Information Systems, starting September 1,
1998. The position requires commitment to teaching, research
and service. Preference will be given to candidates with
specialization in Networking and Data Communications.

Candidates should demonstrate strong research potential with
interest in technical or qualitative research areas of information
systems. A doctoral degree in information systems is required.
Candidates should complete doctoral degree requirements no
later than September 1, 1998. Industrial experience in information
systems is desirable. Applications from experienced assistant
professors are also encouraged. Salary is consistent with rank
and experience.

The Department of Business Analysis provides programs in
three major areas: management information systems,
quantitative methods and operations management. Academic
majors and degrees are offered at the undergraduate,
masters and doctoral levels. The Center for Management of
Information Systems is a unit within the department. The
department has two computer laboratories specializing in
multimedia and network management.

The department includes twenty-seven faculty members, five
staff members and a full complement of graduate assistants
and student workers. The departmental faculty is
accomplished and active in all of the professional domains
of faculty member's role - research, teaching, and service to
the profession, especially through editorial and officer roles.
Within the past two years, the department has received
national recognition in several forms for its faculty and programs
in such publications as Computerworld, Datamation, Journal of
Operations Management, and the Gourman Report.
