The 12th International Conference on Information Networking
(ICOIN--12)
January 21-23, 1998

The International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN) is to provide an
international forum for scientists, engineers, computer users, and students to
exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and research results about all
aspects of communication networks and distributed computing systems. This is the
fourth conference with the new name of ICOIN, which succeeds the Joint Workshop
on Computer Communications (JWCC) starting from 1985. Papers addressing the
following topics of interest are solicited for presentation at the conference and
publication in the conference proceedings.

The areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
Communication Architecture
Security and Privacy
Distributed Database Systems
Mobile and Nomadic Computing
New Applications
Communication Protocols
Internetworking and WWW
High-speed Communications
Multimedia Systems
Distributed Algorithms
Communication Software
Fault-tolerant Distributed Systems
Groupware
Distributed Artificial Intelligent Systems and Multi-agent systems
Personal Communication Systems

Paper and Proposal Submission:
Papers must be equal to or less than six IEEE double-column formatted pages. All
submitted papers will be reviewed by the program committee. Two kinds of papers,
full papers and short papers will be selected according to the technical quality
and relevance. Submission of a paper implies that it has not been published
before. A few papers will be selected for awards : best-paper, best-presentation,
etc. The proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press.
In addition, several selected papers will be published in an international journal
after the conference.

In any case, author names should not appear in the paper itself.

Important Dates:
Paper submission deadline August 1, 1997
Notification of paper acceptance October 1, 1997
Camera ready paper due November 1, 1997
The paper submission deadline is very strict. You are strongly recommended
to send the papers one week before the deadline.
