Over the past twelve years, the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing has
become a primary forum for applied computer scientists and application
developers from around the world to interact and present their work.
SAC '98 is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Groups SIGAda, SIGAPP,
SIGBIO, and SIGCUE.

MULTIMEDIA SYSTEMS TRACK

This track is devoted to presenting and exploring new advancements in the
field of multimedia systems. Original papers on experimental studies and
appropriate theoretical results that have potential impact on this multi-
disciplinary field are solicited. Topics of interest include, but are not
limited to, the following:
Architectures; distributed systems; data modeling; digital audio
and video; digital libraries; text,image, video, and audio compression
and processing; interactive television; media integration and
synchronization; operating system support; storage systems; networks
and communication; programming paradigms and environments.
Author(s) must submit five (5) laser-quality printed copies of full
paper by August 15, 1997 to:

The author(s) name(s) and address(es) must NOT appear in the body of
the paper. Any self-reference should be in the third person. Each paper
must not exceed 4,000 words (approximately 15 pages, double-spaced).
Each copy must have an abstract, a list of key-words and a separate cover
page. This cover page must include the title of the paper, full name(s) of
the author(s), address(es) (including telephone and fax number(s), and
e-mail address(es)) to which correspondence should be sent.
At least one of the authors of the accepted papers must register for the
conference and present the paper.
