Scope:
Personal communications services (PCS) provide communication services
anywhere, anytime, with anybody, and in any form. To implement these
communications concepts, extremely sophisticated network management
which integrates many diverse technologies are required. This special
issue focuses on the research and development of advanced PCS network
management techniques.
Concise, tutorially oriented reference of the state-of-the art or
original contributions related to the following topics are solicited:

- Small scale mobility (inter-system handover) management
- Large scale mobility (roaming) management
- Security (privacy and authentication) management
- Multi-system interworking
- PCS database reliability
- Intelligent networks for PCS
- Network management for PCS data and multimedia applications
- PCS transport network issues (Internet, PSTN, PSDN, ATM)
- Modeling of PCS network management (measurement, analysis, and simulation)

Authors are invited to submit postscript files of their papers to
liny@csie.nctu.edu.tw or sohraby@lucent.com.
Papers should not exceed twenty double
spaced pages in length, excluding figures and diagrams.

Submission deadline: October 25, 1997
Acceptance notification: February 25, 1998
Final manuscript due: April 25, 1998
