CALL FOR PAPERS

1997 International Symposium on Communications

December 17 -- 19, 1997, National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan

The 1997 International Symposium on Communications (ISCOM-97) is the 4th
biennial symposium organized by the academic, research and industrial
societies in communications in Taiwan and will be held at National Tsing
Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, from Wednesday December 17, 1997 to
Friday December 19, 1997. An exhibition will be organized for local
industrial companies and development/research institutes. Detailed
information on accommodations, travel arrangements, excursions and the
technical program will be included in subsequent mailings or can be
reached
via WWW at http://www.ee.nthu.edu.tw/~iscom97/. Papers presenting new
results in the following areas are solicited:

* Wireless Communications * Antenna and Propagation
* Optical Communications * EM Waves and Microwave
Engineering
* Satellite Communications * Audio/Video Processing
* Communication and Coding Theory * Statistical Signal Processing
* High Speed Networks * Communication ICs
* Communication Software * VLSI for Signal Processing
* Personal Communication Systems * Telecommunication Services and
* Network Security Management

Prospective authors are invited to submit 4 copies of extended abstracts
of
no more than 4 pages. All the manuscripts must be written in English in
single-spaced single column on white papers. The top of the first page
of
each paper should include a title, authors' names, affiliations,
addresses,
phone/fax numbers, and email addresses if applicable. The indicated
corresponding author will receive an acknowledgement of his/her
submission.
Camera-ready full papers of accepted manuscripts will be published in a
hard-bound proceeding and distributed in the symposium. The deadline
for
submission of all extended abstracts is June 1, 1997 with notification
of
acceptance by August 1, 1997. Submission of camera-ready papers is by
September 15, 1997. All submitted extended abstracts should be sent to
