The Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technion,
Israel Institute of Technology is looking for candidates for tenure track
positions at the Information Systems Engineering Area.
Current research subjects of faculty include data and knowledge bases,
methodologies of information systems development, industrial applications
of computer vision and document recognition, artificial intelligence,
neural networks and their applications to knowledge representation and
exploitation, communication networks and distributed systems.
The Area conducts an undergraduate program toward B.Sc. in Information
Systems Engineering in collaboration with the Faculty of Computer Science
and independent, highly selective graduate programs toward M.Sc. and
Ph.D. in Information Management Engineering.
The group in Information Systems Engineering Area consists of young
faculty who enjoy an interdisciplinary research environment and
interaction with fellow faculties in such diverse areas as industrial
engineering, behavioral sciences, operations research, statistics, and
economy.
Located at the heart of the beautiful Technion campus at Haifa, The
Faculty of Industrial Engineering is one of the largest and most
established at the Technion with state-of-the-art laboratories,
equipment and facilities. Having received
a large donation, the Faculty is in the process of a significant
expansion, as a result of which it will become a school that combines
Management and Technology faculties.
Candidates holding a doctoral degree with a very strong academic
background, demonstrated research ability and commitment to excellent
teaching are sought in areas relevant to information systems and
information technology, including, but not limited to, data bases,
software engineering, knowledge engineering, computer supported
collaborative work, requirement engineering, management information
systems, real time systems, software quality and software testing.
