David Sarnoff Research Center is a commercial R&D lab in Princeton New
Jersey. Sarnoff has a long tradition applied research success, from its
introduction of color television (when it was the research lab for RCA) to
its more recent co-development of the HDTV standard. In addition to
video-related work Sarnoff supports a wide variety of research areas, such
as biotechnology, communication systems, and information technologies.
Currently we have several openings for database researchers. We are looking
for overall research excellence, demonstrated by a publication
record commensurate with experience, as well as the ability to develop real
systems. Our current database needs include:
- multimedia databases, especially video repositories, video-on-demand
systems, and multimedia indexing
- heterogeneous database systems, especially experience with bio-data
integration
- distributed database systems, especially Web-based information systems
