Database Manager

Johns Hopkins University/Center for Inherited Disease Research (CIDR).
The center is a collaborative effort between the NIH and Johns Hopkins with
a long-term goal to identify and characterize the genes responsible for
multifaceted or complex diseases. Towards that goal, the major functions of
the CIDR will be to conduct high throughput genotypic analysis in
collections of patients with these disorders, together with
several related research activities including statistical genetics,
genetic epidemiology, database design and management and, in order
to incorporate the latest developments in genotyping, technology assessment
and refinement. The Database Manager will implement a relational database
on high performance UNIX based servers in a client-server environment.
Master's or Ph.D in computer science, with bachelor's degree in biology
or a related field, or a Ph.D. in biology with demonstrable experience
in software development. At least five years of experience designing and
successfully implementing large computerized databases and at least
