The ACM Digital Library now includes the ACM Transactions on Database Systems,
at

http://www.acm.org/tods/

Browsing and searching of tables of contents, abstracts and reviews (from
ACM's Computing Reviews) of papers published in ACM journals, including
TODS, since 1985 is available at

http://www.acm.org/pubs/toc/

ACM is obtaining the full text of new articles in PDF form, and is
generating scanned images of all journal articles for the past five years.
These will be packaged as PDF files and linked into the unified Table of
Contents. Access to the actual papers is restricted to subscribers; access
to summary information and the search engine is available to all.

The postscript for accepted papers that have not yet appeared in print
is also available. This ensures very rapid availability. As an example,
the paper "Transactional Client-Server Cache Consistency: Alternatives
and Performance" by Michael Franklin, Michael Carey and Miron Livny
was submitted on October 1995, went through two rounds of review and
revision, was accepted, and appeared in the ACM Digital Library in
January 1997, only fifteen months later.
