ICLP'97 CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS

International Conference on Logic Programming
http://www.cs.kuleuven.ac.be/~iclp97/

The International Conference on Logic Programming ICLP'97 will be
held July 8-11, 1997 at Leuven, Belgium and will be followed by
post-conference workshops. ICLP is sponsored by the Association for
Logic Programming and organised in cooperation with the K.U.Leuven.

The role of the post-conference workshops is ever increasing as a
platform for presenting novel ideas in a less formal way than at the
conference itself. It is also a good opportunity for new researchers
to present their work to the community. The topics of the workshops
can cover any area of logic programming as well as cross-disciplinary
topics involving logic programming.
The format of each workshop will be determined by the organizers, but
it is expected that they contain ample time for general discussion.
Workshops can vary in length, but the expected duration will be half
a day upto one day and a half. Having two or three co-organizers for
a workshop is strongly advised.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Persons intending to organize a workshop at ICLP'97 are invited to
notify the workshop chair (Marianne Baudinet: mb@cs.ulb.ac.be) as soon
as possible, and in any case, to submit a workshop proposal by
January 15, 1997 by e-mail to iclp97@cs.kuleuven.ac.be

The workshop proposal should clearly indicate:

* the title of the workshop
* the topics this title covers
* discussion of the timeliness and relevance of the workshop
* the name and e-mail address of the organizing persons,
with indication of one of them as the workshop coordinator

Workshop organizers will be responsible for:

* Producing a "Call for Papers" for the workshop and posting it
via various electronic lists and/or other means.
* Providing a brief description of the workshop for the conference
program.
* Reviewing/accepting submitted papers.
* Scheduling workshop activities in collaboration with the local
organizers and the workshop chair.
* Making the accepted papers available to the workshop participants.

The proposals accepted by the Programme Committee (to be held on
January 30, 1997) will be included in the conference program and
advertised in the call for participation.
If more information is needed, contact iclp97@cs.kuleuven.ac.be.
