Sponsors: Centre for Information Technology Research (CiTR)
and NEC
Co-Sponsors: Distributed Systems Technology Centre (DSTC)
and FUJITSU
Hosted by: University of Technology, Sydney (UTS)
and University of Western Sydney, Nepean (UWS)
Operations and management of application software or services within
a distributed system and the impact of advanced computing and network
technologies on management. This workshop has traditionally
attracted contributions on new developments in this area.
The "hot topic" theme of this workshop will be on
"Operation and Management of Internet/Intranets".
Recent trends in distributed processing make use of WWW and
Internet / Intranet infrastructure and middleware/languages, such as
CORBA / JAVA, enabling ubiquitous management. The other, reciprocal
, aspect is the operation and management of applications and
infrastructures built around Internet/Intranet technology.
IFIP/DSOM is a premier international event in the area of networks and
systems management. This is the first time DSOM is being held outside
North America and Europe. The high quality DSOM'97 final program consists
of selected papers from authors around the world and panels comprising
distinguished experts from industry and academia.
