*** VisDB 1.0 (for HP-UX) ***
A Visual Data Mining and Database Exploration System
This posting is to announce VisDB 1.0, a visual data mining and database
exploration system. The VisDB system implements several visual data
mining techniques, allowing an exploration of large databases (up-to
about one million data values). The techniques supported by the system
are
- Pixel-oriented Techniques
(Spiral, Axes, and Grouping Techniques)
- Parallel Coordinates
- Stick Figures
The query interface of the VisDB system is a slider-based
direct-manipulation interface, allowing an interactive exploration of the
data.
The VisDB software (binaries for HP-workstations) and additional
information about the system is available from our home page
http://www.dbs.informatik.uni-muenchen.de/dbs/projekt/visdb/visdb.html
The software is free for non-commercial applications. A LINUX version of
the VisDB system is in preparation.
